At A&M Removals, we’ve recently completed an exciting move to one of York’s most iconic landmarks – the former Terry’s Chocolate Factory.
This wasn’t your average house move! With apartments set across multiple floors, one of the biggest challenges was safely transporting furniture and endless boxes all the way up to the top floor. Tight access points, careful manoeuvring, and protecting both belongings and the building itself required real skill and experience from our team. It’s exactly the kind of challenge we thrive on as professional movers.
The site itself is steeped in local history. Formerly known as the Terry’s Chocolate Factory, it has long been an iconic part of York’s skyline, overlooking York Racecourse and the River Ouse. The impressive 180,000 sq ft, five-storey main building has been carefully redeveloped into 163 high-quality apartments, with further work transforming the famous Clock Tower into an additional 23 apartments, alongside a retail unit.
We’re proud to have supported a move within such a well-known York location and to add this landmark development to our portfolio. Projects like this highlight our ability to handle complex removals in unique buildings, while delivering the same care, professionalism, and attention to detail we’re known for.
If you’re moving in or around York – whether it’s a modern apartment, period property, or something a little more challenging – A&M Removals are here to help make your move smooth and stress-free.
